Wilson Cowboy Boots
The Cowboy. An American icon. Very few representatives of American history
leave such an impression of rugged, do-it-yourself individualism, strength and
courage as he. A cowboy is known by the tools he uses, and in some cases, the
tools he doesn't use. No one will dispute that the American cowboy is
symbolized by four of those tools; his boots, his hat, his horse, and his
rope. Other traits that come to mind, but these four elements are without fail.
Bowman's Wilson Boot Co. commemorates and preserves the American cowboy
(a truly endangered species). In 1945 (Wilson Boots) introduced the principle
of making the best quality tools for the working cowboy. That tradition is
being carried on by the Bowman family today.
Since then all Wilson boots are made the 'old fashion way', by hand.

Every Bowman's Wilson Boot is handcrafted from start to finish by
experienced boot makers in the mountains of Montana. In the summer of 2004
Montana Correctional Enterprises started a new Industries program, the
production of these handmade, customized boots and shoes for Bowman's Wilson
Boot Company.
Inmates wishing to educate themselves in practical arts, are trained to
manufacture and repair boots and shoes in strict accordance with plans,
specifications and drawings submitted by the customer.
Top quality leather is used in every custom boot, starting with 5.5
ounces of prime cowhide. Neither Wilson Boots, nor MCE substitute man-made
products for leather in any boot. Exotic leathers are used in a variety of
combinations to create beautiful one-of-a-kind boots. Python, ostrich,
alligator and rattlesnake are some of the exotic skin leather we can provide.
With proper care, Wilson boots will last for years. Boot repair is like
maintenance on your car or truck. Regular care, frequent tune-ups, oil changes
and lubes will guarantee lots of extra mileage for your boots.

Wilson boots are designed and built from the ground up for the working
cowboy. Our philosophy of boot making is to build a tough, strong,
comfortable, properly designed boot.... or don't build 'em at all! Every arch
is hand pegged with wood pegs and is supported inside by an extra long, extra
wide steel shank--it will not break down.
