A Cowboy's hat, like his horse and saddle, is one of the his most prized possessions. Sometimes two weeks' wages or more go toward a hat. In times past, to purchase a hat with an open crown was a common practice. It was a Cowboy's labor of love to put in those dents and creases himself. The hat is also a very practical part of the Cowboy's gear. It keeps the sun and rain off his face and neck. The style and dimension of the crown and brim are sometimes indications of what part of the country that fella was from. Since Tom makes hats by hand, any hat you've ever seen is available!
